Leslie Hunt was right

Here she is being eliminated with the same song as Adam Lambert sang last night - tossing in a hilarious “Why did I decide to scat? America don’t care for Jazz”.

Was totally shocked at Lambert being in the bottom three.

The conspiracy theorist in me says that it was bogus and just the show’s way of rebuilding suspense in a contest that seemed over, but I’ve always assumed that they would never risk getting busted and blowing the whole franchise.

My guess, if he really was fourth in votes:

1. Voter complacency and trying to help people’s second favorite stay alive
2. Backlash from all the hype
3. I think people either worship or absolutely hate Adam - which would explain why he has so much more google searches and interest in him, but might not be leading in votes by as much as I thought.
4. He might have been hurt by being the only one with a non single digit number - he was 05 and 10
5. That big spit take in the beginning of his song - that wasn’t pretty.

Sports Reporter of the day Rachel Shuster

Am I bitter at my inability to make it in the journalism world? Hell, yes. I suppose it’s my fault that I didn’t study the subject at an accredited university, but somehow I think I could do better than this.

Last night the Denver Nuggets beat the New Orleans Hornets by 58 points, 121-63. USA Today honored the biggest road blowout in NBA history with a short article on the back page of its sports section by Rachel Shuster, who wrote that “It might have been even more dominating, but (Carmelo) Anthony sat out the entire fourth quarter.”

Sounded logical to me until I looked at the box score and noticed that the Nuggets outscored the Hornets 33-13 in the fourth quarter. What, was Carmelo planning on shooting some 4 pointers before George Karl made him sit out the final period?

Literary Event of 2009

Just went to Borders looking for a book on David Bowie, which they didn’t have. They did however have the amazing new  release Dancing to the Music in my Head: Memoirs of the People’s Idol by Sanjaya Malakar! What could be a more edifying read than the story of a reality show contestant, who finished seventh, who has a non-disclosure agreement that prevents him from revealing anything interesting about the reality show that made him famous?

My guess is that even that hysterically crying young girl is over Sanjaya by now.

Why I should be running the Game Show Channel

2:00 The $100,000 Pyramid

2:30 The $25,000 Pyramid

Morons! Who the fuck is gonna want to see the $25,000 version after they’ve just seen one four times better? Anyone with a brain knows $25,000 should be on at 2 and $100,000 at 2:30.

I miss Kid N’ Play

My current favorite commercial, excluding all of Charles Barkley’s work of course, is the Lebron James insurance commercial where he parodies this House Party dance scene. It shows that he’s kind of embarrassed about it, but he still loves them, and why not they were fun.
