I found two things interesting about Roger Clemens 60 Minutes segment with a shaky old Mike Wallace.

1. Clemens hilarious outrage over his Judas, Brian McNamee, calling him for fishing equipment without filling him in on the fact that  he had sold him out.   “He e-mails me and asks me where all the good fishing equipment is down at Cabo that I bought so he can go fishing. Thank you very much. I said, ‘Have a good time, go fishing,'” Clemens explains. “Doesn’t say a word that you, that you know I’m fixing to bury you with all these accusations and what do we do about it. Didn’t say a word about it. That’s what pisses me off.”

2. Clemens basically bragging about the fact that he was a warrior and would take any legal painkiller available to do his job, despite the fact that manager Joe Torre begged him not to be a hero. “I was eating Vioxx like it was Skittles,” Clemens said. “And now these people who were supposedly regulating it tell me that it’s bad for my heart. I don’t know what the future holds because of the medicine that I’ve eaten. But I trusted that it was not harmful.” It may only be me, but I don’t see a huge difference between doing steroids and downing Vioxx like it was Skittles. Things have only gotten worse since North Dallas 40 first looked at drugs in sports and I don’t see any happy endings on the horizon for parents who have watched Field of Dreams with their kids hundreds of times.
