I can’t believe it my man crush since the days of 10 Things I Hate about You has died. I don’t think I’ve ever been so shocked by a death in my life. River Phoenix was pretty shocking, but I didn’t see this coming at all. When I was told my first thoughts were “No Fucking Way!”
What a waste. That guy seemed to be ultra talented, artistically serious, and to have had a good head on his shoulders. Legend wise, I’m guessing that his performance as the Joker in the next Batman movie will easily be the biggest posthumous success since James Dean left behind Rebel and Giant. You want to see brilliant, check out his lisping gleeful malevolence in the movie Lords of Dogtown.
It sounds like he died of an accidental overdose of sleeping pills and a case of pneumonia, drag if anyone knows how it feel to have trouble sleeping it’s me.
