One of my oldest, most successful, and best friends once said to me, “Brad, you are probably the smartest guy I have ever met, but all you do is ruminate, and it’s never done you any good.”
Now he always knew that he wanted to be a doctor. He knew from maybe the age of eight. It took me forever to know what I truly wanted to do with my life. At least that was my excuse at the time.
I recently texted him this:
“I’ve stopped ruminated and now am just kicking ass and taking names. Most of all wanted you to know.”
This song originally was an instrumental entitled “Working and Waiting.”
Joe Strummer gave it lyrics and continued to work, but warned against waiting.
Let fury have the hour, anger can be power
D’you know that you can use it?
The voices in your head are calling
Stop wasting your time, there’s nothing coming
Only a fool would think someone could save you
The men at the factory are old and cunning
You don’t owe nothing, so boy get runnin’
It’s the best years of your life they want to steal
Stop wasting your time, there’s nothing coming
Only a fool would think someone could save you
The men at the factory are old and cunning
You don’t owe nothing, so boy get runnin’
It’s the best years of your life they want to steal
