Waiting by the phone

Here’s where you know that you are in trouble and it’s not going to get any better. I’m on hold waiting for a REPRESENTATIVE (always refuse to answer questions and just say REPRESENTATIVE). Anyway, I’m on hold on a cell phone, which means I’m idiotically paying money to be on hold. About 15 minutes pass, when I suddenly notice that the song playing in the background is Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On.”

Is a song that features a chorus that goes, “Hold on for one more day” really appropriate? It’s either corporate stupidity at it’s highest or actually maybe just the most honest message ever given by a big company.

I wonder if any airlines play Buddy Holly or Otis Redding on their in flight feeds?
