Score one for Mel Gibson’s dad and other holocaust deniers.

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) – A Belgian writer has admitted that she made up her best-selling “memoir” depicting how, as a Jewish child, she lived with a pack of wolves in the woods during the Holocaust, her lawyers said Friday.

Misha Defonseca’s book, “Misha: A Memoire of the Holocaust Years,” was translated into 18 languages and made into a feature film in France.

Shockingly, not only wasn’t she raised by wolves, she’s not even Jewish.

No wonder I can’t get a memoir published. I keep writing the truth. Somewhere James Frey is saying - I least I occasionally got high!

I pitched my pop culture book to a agent recommended to me by a former editor. The agent told me that I had no platform (read - fame) to write such a book, but that if I were Andy Rooney he would represent me, forcing me to ponder Andy Rooney penning my opinions on the Clash and Sex Pistols.

I just accidentally caught Rooney’s weekly train wreck of a commentary on 60 Minutes. He was whining about newspaper headlines he didn’t understand, never for some reason considering that it might be helpful to actually read the articles. If only I too had platform.

If you are in high school and committing crimes, you should try to avoid hanging out or conspiring with the students who have just moved into the school district. I’m not sure how I’m going to make this info work for me, but I can’t deny its truth.
