Waiting by the phone

Here’s where you know that you are in trouble and it’s not going to get any better. I’m on hold waiting for a REPRESENTATIVE (always refuse to answer questions and just say REPRESENTATIVE). Anyway, I’m on hold on a cell phone, which means I’m idiotically paying money to be on hold. About 15 minutes pass, when I suddenly notice that the song playing in the background is Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On.”

Is a song that features a chorus that goes, “Hold on for one more day” really appropriate? It’s either coporate stupidity at it’s highest or actually maybe just the most honest message ever given by a big company.

I wonder if any airlines play Buddy Holly or Otis Redding on their in flight feeds?

One Response to “Waiting by the phone”

  1. Tom Petty’s “The Waiting” actually made me hang up once.
